Jest to epicka strategiczna gra fantasy, w której gracze dowodzą armiami dowodzonymi przez Lordów z Daqan oraz demonicznych podwładnych Uthuk Y'llan, w starciach na terenie fantastycznego świata Terrinoth. Rozgrywka odbywa się na dużej mapie pokrytej siatką pól, która przed każdą bitwą ustalana jest zgodnie ze scenariuszem - układa się na niej żetony terenu (takie jak góry, lasy czy rzeki) oraz żetony różnych obiektów - miast, zamków, mostów, itp.
